Having dry brittle, split hair is not good at all, and we really need do take care of no matter what. But do you know it's not the daily hair care trick you follow it's our daily bad habits that are damaging our beautiful hair.
WHAT CAUSES HAIR DAMAGE ?
Our hair shaft is made of three layers, the innermost layer, middle layer and outermost layer.
The innermost layer is medulla, the middle layer is cortex and the outermost layer is cuticle. The cuticles are the one that protects our hair and give them a shinny look, but when the cuticles open up it makes hair shaft and causes damage to our hair.
It's very easy to point out damaged hair because they are super dry, fizzy, awkwardly tangled and totally unmanageable.
There are many reasons that causes all this damage to our hair which are listed down below:-
1. STRESS AND NOT HAVING ENOUGH SLEEP
Getting enough sleep is very important not just for our hair but also for our whole body to function of properly. And taking a alot o stress causes a lot of damage to both of our hair and body.
Stress cause Telogen Effluvium which results our hair to go into a resting phase, as a result of this, within few weeks we start facing alot of hair lose.
There are alot of reasons which causes stress but we need to control it because losing hair is one step that we will be seeing externally, but just imagine that will be happening internally, inside our body. Try to relax and meditate if you have stress issues, meditating will be helping to control your stress level.
2. POOR DIET
Taking a proper diet is not important for our hair but it represents our whole body. Having a poor diet results is damage hair or hair fall, weight gain, poor skin and increases the changes of having a harmful disease.
Consuming unhealthy food on daily basis leads to lack of nutrition which can result in hair thinning and hair lose. Consuming food with alot of nutritions and Vitamin A, B, E are very good for our hair.
3. COMBING HAIR WRONGLY
Something simple things can create alot of damage. Combing your hair properly is very important. Never use thin-tooth comb to comb your hair. Combing your hair with thin-tooth comb make alot of hair fall. Always use a wide-tooth comb, it helps to comb your hair without damaging them and makes combing very easy.
If your hair are wet, don't even consider combing, it's very bad for your hair. When your hair are wet they are weak fragile and prone to uproot from scalp. So comb your hair when they get dry to avoid unwanted damage.
4. NOT CLEANING YOUR HAIR PROPERLY
How many times you wash your hair in a week ? Having a hair wash should not be on your consideration but it should be on your hair type. You should understand your skin type and wash according to it. If a person has oily hair then it is advised to wash in 2-3 times a week on the second hand if you have dry hair, washing once in a week is enough.
Washing your hair more than needed will not do any good to your hair but will make damage your hair, and not washing hair especially when your hair are oily will cause dead skin cells debris on scalp.
5. WEARING TIGHT HAIR TIES
No doubt, we girls love our hair ties but it doesn't mean that non of use are noticing the damage the are causing. Hair ties have the tendency to pull on the scalp and hair cuticle, which is why you may sometimes notice your hair fall out of bit when we undo our hair.
But I know we can't always leave our hair open all of the times especially during summer season and a gym, so it recommendable to not to ties your hair with a very tight ties and use the one in which you don't feel your hair fulling off.
6. EXCESSIVE HEAT STYLING
All of the heat appliances used for hair styling are used to give our hair shinny and glamorous look, but it shouldn't be used every day. All of the heat appliances like hair straightener, hair dryer and hair curler these all causes our hair to dry faster than usual. This causes hair to lose its internal moisture, leaving it dry and brittle.
Avoid using hair dryers for drying your hair when you are not in any rush and can go fir a heatlless hair styling technique. Regular use of hair heat appliances will reduce the amount of natural oils in our hair making our hair dry.
7. USING HAIR CHEMICALS
In today's generation, alot of youngsters do alot of hair coloring experiments on their hair, but to you know what damage they are doing ? These hair dyes, bleaches, and some shampoos and conditioners contains alot of harmful chemicals that breaks down chemical bonds in our hair causing damage.
Using sulfate-free shampoos will help to cleanse your hair and strip all of the essential chemicals into our hair.
8. GETTING A REGULAR HAIR TRIM
Growing hair is very hard but it becomes harder when we don't get rid of split ends. Hair trimming helps to keep your hair healthy as it removes the dry and split hair. Getting a hair trim at least once in a week is advisable to maintain a healthy look for hair.
