Motivation is the key to happy life. You need to find motivation even if you don't have one. Especially in today's fast life, alot of people are lacking of motivation and they don't know how to find it or what's killing their motivation.
So here we are with 4 reasons that are killing your motivation.
1. RUNNING WITHOUT WALKING
Do you have lofty goals and towering ambitions? Do you aspire to change the world rise to the top of your field or create a lasting legacy ? Many people fantasize about finding success but only handful of people actually pursue these extraordinary dreams. Very few have the passion and vigor necessary to make their most fantastical dreams come true. But even you have all the passion in the world this bad habit can destroy your motivation when you dream of your own success. You may feel restless to jump to the end, to get to the good part of what you want like to build your business you want or publish your own book or many more but you don't want to wait ! When you get excited to make your dreams a reality you run without walking. You skip the years of boring, grinding work you need to polish your skills, you need to overlook the important lesson that each failure has to teach you.
Running without walking will result you falling flat on your face. You may realize that you don't know what you are doing and your motivation may suffer.
If you want to grow your motivation, be patient with yourself and be patient with your success. Before you can accomplish your goals you need to learn the fundamentals. Always remember, their are no shortcuts to success. Build your foundation and slowly but surely your will accrue the confidence you need to succeed.
2. LACK OF LEARNING
How often do you learn something new ? In schools we learn something new almost every day but after graduation when embarking to the world most of people stop learning, they stop reading, they stop exploring. People just stop challenging their minds or investigating new subjects but learning is a fantastic source of motivation whether you are learning something useful or not. Even if you're digesting random facts any new information, it can leave you motivated and inspired. It can help to form new connection or relate things in ways you've never thought of before.
No one is going to force you to learn anything but learning should be a life long hobby. No matter how old you get, no matter what field you work in, learning will always push you into a new direction and ignite the spark inside you. So make an effort to learn at least one new thing every day.
3. FRUITLESS COMPARISONS
How often you compare yourself to other people? Comparisons of any kind whether you are measuring success, attractiveness or material wealth are bad habits. Yet many people compare themselves to every single person they meet. But do you know why is that ? Well because social comparisons come from a place on insecurity when you don't feel confident in yourself, when you are not proud of what you have done, you compare yourself to others. If they are worse than you, you feel better about your self but of they are smarter, stronger or more successful than you then you start criticising yourself.Either way you are not building any real confidence.
In order to build lasting motivation you need intrinsic confidence and that confidence stems from self believe and genuine pride.
3. GIVING UP IMMEDIATELY
When something doesn't go your way what do you do ? Do you try again or give up ? Many people after experiencing any kind of failure just let their dreams slip away but those failures actually motivates you to succeed. The most successful people got where they are today by driving themselves through failure they experienced may setbacks they faced many obstacles but they didn't give up instead their failure motivated them to push harder to keep trying until they accomplished their goals.
If you are not getting what you wanted don't let it go, just keep on practicing and fighting back in every aspect of your life.
4. CHASING MULTIPLE GOALS
Multitasking may seems like a great idea but more often than not it's a recipe for disaster when you try to do multiple things at the same time, you're splitting your attention. The simple fact is that the human brain is not designed to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously. It's possible to do many small tasks the same time but larger challenging projects deserves all of your attention. The same is for you goals. Don't try to accomplish a crowd of different goals at the same time, you'd be surprised how many people struggle not with setting goals but with setting too many goals. The envision for themselves several different futures, all of which they want equally and rarely accomplish any of them.
Just like multitasking, split your attention chasing multiple goals by dividing your time and effort so instead of pouring a little into alot of things just put all of your time and efforts into one dream. Just keep one vision of your future, it will not only help you to get mush easier time motivating yourself, you are much more likely to achieve your goals.
